To be a community of believers in the Waterdown and Burlington neighbourhoods that is conscientiously Reformed in doctrine and intentionally evangelistic in lifestyle for the glory of God.
To form a body of believers together in the Waterdown and Burlington area with the intent of glorifying God through worship, daily life, reaching out to the lost and building up the found.
Our Concept of Ministry
We are a fellowship of believers committed to the glory of God, prayerfully providing and promoting worship, fellowship, education, evangelism, missions and diaconal ministry so that many people may become disciples of Jesus Christ, welcomed into the nurturing and serving life of the church that lives obediently before him in the world. (1 Corinthians 10:31 and Matthew 28:19-20)
Living Hope Reformed Church began in February 2014 as a church plant of Living Water Reformed Church in Brantford, Ontario. A handful of families from the Waterdown and Burlington area wished to begin a church plant focused on outreach in the community of Waterdown. By God’s help, Living Hope has been able to serve the Waterdown community through summer carnivals for local families, collecting food for the Waterdown Food Bank, and raising funds for local charities through garage sales.
The primary way we serve our community is through providing a place of restoration and healing from the brokenness of this world in the faithful worship of God. By his grace, we held our first worship service on September 12, 2014, and continue to meet twice each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
On May 13th, 2016 Pastor Daniel Ventura was ordained as a minister of the gospel in the URCNA and installed as the Associate Pastor at Living Water Reformed Church, with a focus on church planting in the Waterdown community. Pastor Daniel has been married to his wife, Brooke for five years, and they have two children, Elizabeth and John.
For more about Living Hope’s story, read this article written by Glenda Mathes in Christian Renewal Magazine:
We believe God, out of his love for the church and care for the world, has called specific men to serve as ministers of the Word (pastor), overseers of the flock (elders), and ministers of mercy (deacons) who will tangibly care for the needs of people inside and outside of the church.
